Migration issues pose challenging questions about citizenship, human rights, democracy and education. In the study, seven images of migration are analyzed using the method of documentary interpretation of pictures. By looking at the images, the situation of migrants and the difficulties of their integration into host communities are presented in order to examine how citizenship education should be reconceived and embodied in the school processes in an age of global migration in Germany.
