Modern knowledge has increasingly reduced to correlations between empirical variables. All knowledge, however, is intuition-based, including logic, mathematics, and statistical theory. Even empirical indicators are constructed intuitively! This book discusses the ins and outs of scientific philosophy, which is structured in four layers: paradigm, analysis, theory, and hypothesis (PATH). Economic, sociological and psychological research programmes are explained in terms of the PATH- structure. Unfortunately, modern research is mostly focussed on the empirical testing of the H-layer. When ignoring the PAT-part, empirical relations cannot be understood. Even religion is intuition-based. Orthodox religion is based on a fixed paradigm, which is a dogma. Heterodox religion works with paradigms, which evolve over time. From a revengeful God, who has its favourite persons to a God who loves all his creatures, for instance. Changes in the image of God has significant effects on the empirical world.

The increasing role of AI is a threat to our civilisation: It’s all about the H-layer, the meaning-producing PAT is ignored.
